MIM-104D (PAC-2/GEM)
The MIM-104D, also known as PAC-2/GEM (Guidance Enhanced Missile), is a further improved MIM-104C. It has a seeker with better performance against low-RCS targets, and an improved fuze against high-speed ballistic missiles. The MIM-104D entered production in 1994.
The PAC-2 missiles were modified significantly—four separate variants became known collectively as guidance enhanced missiles (GEM)
The PAC-2 missile have a range of 160 km (Aircraft) / 20 km (Ballistic), with standard dimensions of 5.31m long, a diameter of 41cm and a weight of ~900kg.
They have TVM semi-active radar homing and a 84 kg blast-fragmentation (larger 45g fragments for TBMs) warhead.
Detonation mechanism is a dual-mode pulse-doppler proximity fuze and has a single-stage solid-fueled rocket motor.
