MIM-104E (PAC-2/GEM+)

GEM+ (Guidance Enhanced Missile Plus) is a modernization of the PAC-2 inventory commonly associated with the designation MIM-104E. It is described as upgrading many existing PAC-2 rounds (notably MIM-104C/D) to a common improved standard via replacement/modernization of missile sections (often the forebody) and electronics.

Improved seeker sensitivity / low-noise front-end (often described as a low-noise oscillator/front-end modernization) to improve acquisition/tracking performance against smaller / lower-RCS targets, including in clutter.

Modernized fuzing to improve performance (including against ballistic missile targets) and address obsolescence/reliability.

Commonly described as split into GEM-T (TBM-optimized) and GEM-C (cruise-missile optimized) configurations under the GEM+ umbrella.
