M901 Launching Station (Generation 1)
The M901 is the original, first-generation launcher designed during the Cold War. It was built to handle the large, early-generation Patriot missiles that relied on blast-fragmentation warheads to destroy aircraft and early ballistic missiles.
- Missile Compatibility: PAC-1, PAC-2, and PAC-2 GEM (Guidance Enhanced Missile) variants (GEM-T, GEM-C).
- Capacity: It can carry a maximum of 4 missiles. Each missile is housed in its own large, individual rectangular canister.
- Key Limitation: It cannot fire the newer, highly advanced PAC-3 kinetic "hit-to-kill" interceptors.
